This is depicting birth. The most powerful gift given to woman is to be the portal of Life itself. True Shakti. I must confess the texture is because it is painted over something that went haywire a few years earlier, to cover it I sprayed it. Could not waste a surface. I stared it for a few weeks and then one day in frustration I turned in on its head. This image, or shades of it appeared. What more can I say. Trippy it is.

During the lock down in spite being reclusive for some reason I did a few paintings of women. This the third in the Melancholy series. The model was in another continent. I just requested some poses and painted them using a palette knife. It shows a lonely woman in an empty city with the moon looking on. People seem to be afraid of putting up nudes!

The first in the Melancholy series. I hope to do a 24 x 30 of this somewhere down the line.

Abstract? Perhaps not. Ganapati painting with certain nationalist and right wing overtones. Peace from above, darkness and evil always from below. An abstract swastika, blood, national flag, usage of dominant colours and yes, the moon again!

This was an entry for an international social awareness contest and we could choose any subject. Climate change and all that is such a hoax and a cliche so I chose the evil inherent in paedophile behaviour and acts. It carried an appeal to set the children free. It didn't get a prize, I never expected anyone to buy this, but sell it did. .. to a metal head hard rock music fanatic.

I was seated on my pot and there was tee shirt that appeared to me like an elephant. That I precisely where this one started. I have a thing for tortoises, Collect them and they appear in some paintings too! The water motif reappeared in my VINAYAK painting. It sold but the first prospect was disappointed with the size they wanted bigger. While doing this I realised I was poor at drawing circles. I subsequently sorted that problem.

As mentioning earlier I found a solution to drawing perfect circles. I designed a compass that could draw circles 2 feet in diameter. 3 weeks before Ganesh Chaturthi I had this black canvas and a new compass. I was also determined to paint my first Ganapati and complete it by festival day. Well it was back to school. The flowers we used to draw as children became the basis of this painting. With closer scrutiny you will see it. This was most followed painting on social media and sold within a day of completion.

I would like to mention that I have gifted many, many prints of this to people up and down the strata of society and sold a few, I feel a burden to share him with people wishing blessings and all good things.

I used to do oil paints in the past. Then there was this workshop using acrylic paints. I was curious. Like most they gave out a picture to copy, a Monet in this case. For myself I was not going to waste this opportunity to create what I wanted. So while everyone was struggling trying to be Monet I was busy being me. while working the steps and these two figures started appearing in the brush strokes and like always I flowed along. I had gone to Bangalore for my SSB and met an old family friend, the lady was Iraqi and loved horses. She asked me to recreate a painting from a poster. A painting I chanced upon in Google recently.

My late father was a military man, passed on aged 93! He had this album of bagpipe music and he loved the album cover. He asked to do it for him. I need mention that my father was a realist artist. But never pursued, and my mother used to paint flowers for birthday cards she posted out. Anyway, I did the bagpiper but that 5-7 day window thing I suffered with lead me to develop a style where thick rough surfaces became my thing.
